We believe that land and people can not be treated separately, and that the healing and health of each is deeply connected. Since the Foundation’s inception in 1999, giving has focused on projects that nurture positive relationships among people and the spaces and environments within which we live and thrive. Historical giving supported international organizations which defended against bigotry, exploitation and violations of civil rights, and others that provided direct support for at-risk or troubled kids, teenagers and young adults in living healthy, vibrant and connected lives.

Fundamental to our work is communication because how we communicate with each other plays a central role in the decision we make individually and as a society. From you-tube shorts to full length films, from in person conversations and hosted salons, to formal science and policy briefs, the Foundation actively supports media that informs and transforms our perspectives.
